We've had many questions come up lately about whether the CEUs in our online courses will work towards recertification on various licenses.
Our programs are approved for CEs by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA). The AANA is an accredited CE provider through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This is the top national organization in the U.S. for nursing CE approval for all nurses.
All nursing license types can use CE credits from our program for license renewal in the United States.
If you're a physician, you can self-report your hours as category 2 CMEs. We are currently working on getting approved for category 1. Stay tuned.
We originally did this because we know how difficult it can be to get all your CEUs done for license renewal and we wanted you to get credit for your learning. Between work and the little bit of free time most employers let you have, the last thing most people want to do is spend their days off getting CEs and studying.
For most healthcare workers completing a program at your own pace when you have a little bit of downtime here and there works out a lot better.
As a bonus, if you are in one of our courses you're learning a skill that can substantially increase your income and improve your life if you decide to open your own clinic.
We even discovered something else along the way that we didn't initially consider.
Because all of our courses are approved for CEUs, many of our students have been able to get the tuition for our training programs paid for by their employers.
Many employers in the healthcare field either offer reimbursement for CEUs or cover the cost directly because they need you to stay certified to continue doing your job, and it's an easy perk to incentivize you to work for them.
They also know many healthcare professionals forget about it and never submit the paperwork for CE benefits like employer reimbursement. So it ends up being a perk that they don't always have to pay for (unlike giving you a raise).
We've heard both sides of this story many times over the last few years, with some students kicking themselves for not looking into their employer's reimbursement program and other students jumping up and down because their entire tuition was completely paid for.
With the end of the year coming up now is the time to look into your employer's CE benefit program and see how much you can get covered.
Maybe they'll cover the entire cost of your tuition for one of our programs, or at least a good chunk of it.
And if you're a 1099 employee, training programs like ours count as a business expense that helps reduces your tax liability. Talk to your CPA about how it might fit into your tax plan for the year.

P.S. If you're one of our students who did get their tuition covered by their employer, we'd love to hear from you. Post your story in one of our free groups (links below) so others can benefit from your experience.
