Overview

During your interview for my show, we’ll discuss your entrepreneurial journey and also dive into your current entrepreneurial area of expertise. Our goal is to provide entertainment, insight, actionable advice and inspiration for listeners, most of which are current or aspiring healthcare entrepreneurs. 

  • The interview will last about 45 minutes. 
  • Please be ready to provide a call-to-action or provide a way listeners can learn more about you when prompted during the show. 
  • I will send you a link to access the video call 48 hours before your scheduled interview.
  • This is a video and audio interview (unless we have made special arrangements ahead of time). 

FLOW OF THE SHOW

This outline is intended to act as a guide rather than a rigid show structure. I prefer to let the natural conversation flow.

  • Off-air chat to meet, greet and ensure audio and equipment is properly set up.
  • Introduction
    • I will introduce you and share your bio.
  • Growing up and your roots 
    • Share your story as it relates to your entrepreneurial area of expertise.
    • Describe your journey to becoming an entrepreneur, leader or business expert. 
      • How and why did you get started? 
      • Walk us through those first steps that led you to where you’re at today. What was going through your mind? 
      • Describe a challenge or difficulty specific to your current area of expertise you’re facing right now. 
      • What are the pros and cons of being an entrepreneur or leader in your space?
      • How do you manage work/life balance, like the challenges starting a business has created with relationships (i.e. spouse and children)?
      • What daily habits do you think are key to your success as an entrepreneur? 
      • What does the first 60 minutes of your day look like? 
      • What are your tips for self-care (i.e. carving out time for exercise, mindfulness, nutrition, sleep) vs working?
      • What is one thing you wished you knew before starting your business?
    • Provide any other actionable tips or advice you think are important for business success. 
  • Your biggest failure or challenge 
    • I will ask you to describe a time (in business or your personal life) when things seemed to be falling apart and you were questioning yourself.
      • Describe the circumstances around this event and how it made you feel.
      • Did you push through or did you pivot and change directions?
      • How did you know whether or not you should continue pushing through or stop what you were pursuing and change directions?
  • Question Round (if we have extra time)
    • A series of questions that relate to success and being an entrepreneur.
  • Finale
    • Tell us about your favorite software, resource, book or podcast.
    • Provide a final piece of advice.
    • Remind listeners how they can connect with you.
    • If you have a call-to-action or something to promote,  you’ll be invited to mention it here.
  • Closing off air chat 
    • Do you know anyone who would be a great guest for the podcast?

  • What are some common myths or misconceptions related to your area of expertise?
  • What compelled you to enter the entrepreneurial space you're in?
  • What would constitute a perfect day for you?
  • What is your most treasured entrepreneurial memory?
  • Where, what or when do you find yourself in your most creative zone?
  • What was one terribly embarrassing moment in your life?
  • What are your greatest accomplishments in your life?
  • What do you hope to accomplish in the next 10 years?

BIO EXAMPLE

A 250-350 word bio in a narrative form vs bullets. Please include desired credentials, as well as your current title, organization and what you do. Highlight distinct attributes pertaining to your skills, expertise, business or business niche. Feel free to also include awards, media and accolades. Your bio will be used for social media promotion before the show and I will also use your bio to introduce you to my listening audience.
