Learn more so you can apply this best practice to your entrepreneurial journey!
3 KEY POINTS:
- What are my goals?
- Does this help me move closer to my goal?
- How much would this cost?
EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Entrepreneurs are good at identifying and solving problems but not so much at figuring out which tasks to prioritize.
- To figure out what you should be working on::
- First, have your goal in the back of your mind.
- Jason has a 3-year plan, yearly goals, and quarterly goals. Their team also conducts annual meetings to discuss the goals for the year.
- Second, does this project help move the needle toward the goal?
- If it's not getting you closer to your goals, it's a shiny object that should go to the bottom of the list.
- If it's something that could potentially be applicable, list it in a separate sheet and revisit it during the next annual meeting.
- First, have your goal in the back of your mind.
- Third, determine what the cost is for the different projects or tasks.
- For each project, consider these three things:
- Time: How much time would this cost?
- Capital: How much capital would we need to invest?
- Effort: How much effort would this take?
- Score each of them according to their level of cost/effort. 1 for minimal, 2 for intermediate, and 3 for high cost/effort.
- For each project, consider these three things:
- Identifying these will help you:
- Eliminate those that are not in alignment with your goals
- Figure out the most efficient process for achieving your goal.
- Sort them according to Cost Number and ROI to identify which would give the most growth potential and have the least cost.
